Ramón I. Meléndez, proud son of
Ismael and Lydia Meléndez, was born in Queens, New York in 1968. He
graduated General Douglas MacArthur High School in Levittown, New York in 1986 with
Regents High Honors and was recognized as a National Presidential
Scholar. Following high school, Mr. Meléndez attended Bucknell
University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania where he lettered with the
Bucknell University NCAA Division 1 Wrestling program. Mr. Meléndez
graduated from Bucknell with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
International Relations in 1990. Mr. Meléndez then attended
Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts where he earned his
Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1993. Thereafter, Mr. Meléndez was admitted to the
practice of law in both Massachusetts and Florida.

As a former
Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Mr. Meléndez was assigned to the Narcotics and Special Investigations Division where he prosecuted complex,
multi-jurisdictional criminal cases. Upon his arrival to Florida,
Mr. Meléndez prosecuted major felony crimes for the Office of the
State Attorney in both Lake and Seminole Counties.
In 2000, Ramón Meléndez left the practice of criminal prosecution to join the private sector and engage in civil trial work. Mr. Meléndez has
been lead trial counsel in numerous successful jury trials in both
Massachusetts and Florida. He has been a litigation associate with
the law firms of Bogin, Munns & Munns and Hooper & Weiss, with
offices in New York and Florida. As trial counsel with these firms,
Mr. Meléndez engaged in personal injury litigation as well as
securities fraud arbitration. In 2003, Mr. Meléndez
co-authored a Complaint filed with the NASD in New York against Citigroup Global
Markets, Inc., f/k/a Salomon Smith Barney, Inc. and Jack B. Grubman.
This Complaint was filed on behalf of thousands of aggrieved WorldCom investors, who were represented by
multiple law firms throughout the United States.

Since becoming a
private plaintiff’s lawyer working on behalf of injured victims, Mr. Meléndez has already accounted for settlements and jury verdicts on
behalf of his clients totaling in excess of 3 million dollars. Mr. Meléndez has litigated claims involving serious bodily injury,
including spinal cord injuries, infectious diseases and disorders of
the sympathetic nervous system such as complex regional pain
syndrome.
Ramón Meléndez
is currently a resident of East Orlando and the Founder and
President of Meléndez Law Firm. His professional associations
include membership in the prestigious American Association for
Justice, Florida Justice Association, the Trial Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar and the
Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association. He is an active
member of both the Massachusetts Bar and Florida Bar. A past
president of the Latino Law Students Association, and former member
of the Attorney General’s Racial and Ethnic Bias Task Force, Mr. Meléndez is currently a member of the Puerto Rican Professional
Association of Florida.
